Breakthrough Greater Boston recruits
Once students decide to apply, the first step is to complete the student application. The application has several sections including short answer questions, a 3-5 paragraph essay, and a Teacher Feedback Form, which will be sent directly to the teachers electronically.
The second step in the process is a Student and Family Interview Day. Each applicant is invited to Breakthrough to learn more about the program, participate in a challenging group activity and complete an individual interview.
Admissions decisions are mailed to families approximately 4-6 weeks after they have participated in Interview Day.
Prospective students and families often ask us, “Who are you looking for?” Breakthrough Greater Boston is looking for students who are willing to make a six-year commitment to the program, are serious about pursuing the goal of college, and have a demonstrated need.
Want to see what it’s like to be a Breakthrough student?
The Breakthrough Recruitment Team will be visiting schools and hosting information sessions throughout October and November. The student application will be available online and at our partner schools in early October. Current sixth graders (High School Class of 2026) are encouraged to apply! Please reach out to the appropriate campus director with any questions.
