Applications are open!
The application deadline is Friday, February 26th, 2021. We offer applications in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any issues or concerns.
Overview: Breakthrough Greater Boston recruits 6th grade public school students district-wide in Cambridge and Somerville, and in our six partner schools in Boston: TechBoston Academy, New Mission Collegiate Academy, Neighborhood House Charter School, Codman Academy, Academy of the Pacific Rim, and Boston Prep. Breakthrough Program Directors complete formal recruitment presentations in each classroom to make sure every 6th grader has a chance to learn about the program, meet current Breakthrough students, and ask lots of questions.
Timeline: Once students decide to apply, the first step is to complete the student application. The application includes short answer questions for students, a brief section for parents/guardians and a Teacher Feedback Form, which will be sent directly to the teachers electronically.
The second step in the process is a Virtual Student and Family Interview Day. Each applicant is invited to Breakthrough to learn more about the program, participate in a challenging group activity and complete an individual interview.
Admissions decisions are mailed to families approximately 4-6 weeks after they have participated in Interview Day.
